When He Speaks...

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Job 32-33, Acts 14

The more we let people have a say & opinion in our lives, the more difficult it becomes to stay focused on our goals, especially Spiritual goals! We start thinking about & asking ourselves, "Why haven't I done this?" Or, "Why aren't I putting my time & talents into that? Everybody's doing it!"

Job certainly had his persuaders, and some seemed very convincing, and maybe even convicting...but Job never really gave in to their opinions! Yes, he got angry & had a lot of emotional responses to their speeches, but rightfully so! He handled those situations as best he could...but above all speakers, when GOD speaks, Truth abounds! And He speaks the Truth in LOVE!

"but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:" Ephesians 4:15

So it's not time for us to be opinionated, but educated in Truth! Then, we need to speak it & share it boldly!

"And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed." Acts 14:1

The disciples knew that speaking & expressing the Word of God would touch all who were open-hearted and ready to receive it! It didn't matter what language they spoke or background they had, when God spoke through the disciples, it drove out the opinions in their hearts & opened them up to Truth! When God speaks, it's powerful! But then there are those who are resistant...they may know the power of God will override the power of their opinion, so they refuse to receive...the disciples ran into these types of people too...

"But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles. And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, they were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about: and there they preached the gospel." Acts 14:4‭-‬7

...But they kept preaching to all who would hear! God's Word is greater than any opinion! Truth brings life...and God IS Truth, so when He speaks, we must listen with intent to obey...because it's gonna be good!!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
