When No One is Listening...

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Job 17-19, Acts 10:1-23

"And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me."

Job 19:26‭-‬27

As we've gone through the readings of Job, he continues to realize that his friends are really not helping him. They are not listening to him, they are just speaking whatever they think is right (remember, right vs. righteous!). When we come to this place, where we feel we have no one to turn to, God is there! And even when we have reliable & trustworthy friends, God should still be our first go-to! Job truly held onto God the whole way through, even though sometimes he was a little stronger than other times. No matter if skin worms destroyed him or the words of his friends, he knew he would one day see God! When Cornelius thought he was an outsider, a Gentile and not a Jew, someone who would not fit in with the other believers, God heard his prayers! Cornelius believed in God and prayed anyway!

"a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God." Acts 10:2‭-‬4

God then connected him & his household with Peter, and they were all saved through the Acts 2:38 plan of repentance, water baptism in Jesus' Name & receiving the Holy Ghost! God listened, and brought him people who would listen & help him in his next steps of faith! So, even when it seems like no one is listening, pray! God is listening. He hears you. He will direct you & connect you with those who will be a positive Spiritual influence upon your life!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
