Wise & Faithful 

Based on Leviticus 4-5, Matthew 24:29-51

It is one thing to be wise in knowing what to do, but it is another thing to be faithful in the follow-through! Putting our wisdom & faith into action is where it counts! That's when we are obedient to the desires of God. We can't just hear & know, we have to do it...in the here & now!

Just as in the days of old, God expects us to be faithful & obedient. God laid out His plan to those in the Old Testament:

"And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty; When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation."
Leviticus 4:13‭-‬14

What if the congregation just didn't feel like sacrificing?? Thank God they did! They were not only wise, they were faithful. Although they sinned through ignorance, once it was known, they knew they had to make it right & follow through with the obedient, sacrificial process. The children of Israel didn't always get it right, as we will continue to see...but many sacrifices were made in those days which God accepted. Even if we don't feel like it, even when we want to take the easy way out, keep in mind that God's way is best, and HE WILL GET US TO HEAVEN! OUR COMFORTS WON'T!

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" Acts 17:30.

God's process for us is repentance. That readies us for baptism of water & Spirit. That readies us for Heaven & eternal life!

"Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 24:45‭-‬51.

When we lose sight of Jesus and our Heavenly home, we tend to slack on being wise & faithful...we allow a little sin to creep into our lives. This will continue to lead us down a dangerous path! If Jesus comes tomorrow, will we be found wise & faithful? Something to ponder & pray about!
