Within & Without
Bible Reading Today: 1 Kings 5-6, 2 Chronicles 2-3
1 Kings 6:30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
The beautiful house which Solomon built for The Lord had gold within & without. Everything of value was poured into this house...and not just the gold & materials...it was the time, talent & effort of the servants USING the gold, jewels & materials to bring this blueprint to reality! That's why the use of gold within & without the house stood out to me...God doesn't just care about decor-the "golden appearance" without. God is truly pleased with a heart of gold shining from within, that special something that gives the outward man that glow that radiates far brighter than any decor can highlight! In order to get the result of a beautiful house for The Lord, the servants put gold within and without. In order for us to be a beautiful place for The Lord to dwell, we must be golden-true, pure & holy-within & without! That holy shine will attract others to Jesus too! That pure gold of God serves so much purpose!
